Audible Arts Episode 2: Kevin Hines

Rachel Madrigal

Rachel Madrigal, Podcast Manager

Welcome to the second 2016 episode of The Vista Voice’s podcast: Audible Arts, an audio exploration of what makes Vista del Lago students unique and wonderful. In this episode, Rachel Madrigal speaks with activist Kevin Hines about his struggles in recovery. Hines is one of many who have jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge to end their life. However, he is one of the few who have survived such attempts, and one of the only people to regain full mobility after that plunge. Since his attempt in 2000, Hines has shared his story with people nationwide in order to raise awareness of the complexity of mental health.
The National Suicide Hotline number is 1-800-273-8255, or text “go” to 741-741 for a free 24 hour confidential text line.
