On Feb. 14 at 5:39 a.m., the police received a phone call from an employee working at the Circle K at 95 Natoma St. saying that three armed white men stole both money and goods from the store.
At 6:37 a.m., police, assisted by canine units, searched an apartment complex where they arrested one suspect. The search continued and led to Placerville where the police apprehended three other suspects by noon. During the search, El Dorado High School went under lockdown for an hour until the final suspects were caught.
The police arrested Noah Jordan Belcher, 18, Geofry Edward Hamil, 22, and Seth James Johnson, 20, all of Placerville, and Alex David Simon, 20.
A Circle K employee, who wasn’t identified, said that this particular Circle K has not changed its policy regarding security after the incident, likely because of the fact that Folsom, Calif., is one of the safest cities in Northern California. Even though Folsom has the Folsom Prison with a capacity equal to 35 percent of the city’s population, Folsom has a crime rate of 93 criminals per 100,000 people, and the population of Folsom is 73,334.
At this time, the police have released no additional information.
