Scottsbluff, NE – A heartbreaking case has unfolded in Scotts Bluff County as two teenagers stand accused of fatally stabbing 15-year-old Wyatt Reeb. Devante Castellaw, 17, and Corey Rotherham Jr., 16, were arraigned on second-degree murder charges on January 24 in Scotts Bluff County Court. Both remain in custody on a $1 million bond each.
According to court documents, surveillance footage captured Castellaw and Rotherham—along with another unidentified teen—chasing and attacking Reeb. The brutal assault ended with Reeb collapsing near Gary’s Auto Repair, where his stepmother found him bleeding and struggling to breathe.
Emergency responders rushed Reeb to Regional West Medical Center, where doctors discovered a stab wound to his heart. He was later airlifted to a Denver hospital, but despite medical efforts, he tragically succumbed to his injuries.
The legal proceedings are now underway, with Castellaw scheduled for arraignment in district court on January 31 at 1 p.m. Rotherham’s preliminary hearing is set for February 5 at 2:30 p.m. Authorities continue to investigate potential additional suspects or motives.

Wyatt’s funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 30, at The Chuck Wagon Church in Scottsbluff. His untimely death has left a deep void in the hearts of his family and community.
