The Vista del Lago High School varsity tennis team scored a 9-0 victory against Christian Brothers High School at Vista del Lago High School on April 7.

The top three players competing for Vista are freshman Subedei Enkhtuvshin,  sophomore Varunesh Senthilkumar, and senior Adam Abumughaiseeb. The game included six singles and three doubles matches.

This victory places Vista on a nine-game win streak and undefeated in the league. “He didn’t worry about this game,” said varsity tennis coach Marc Erwin. He also said that this team has championship material, and they can easily be the section championship winner for the third year in a row.

One of the top singles players, Felix Tong, said that his opponent did well, he liked slicing (a type of hit in tennis) the ball, and didn’t know how to counter it until later in the game. Tong ended up winning his match 2-0.

Singles player Jason Zhang said that he didn’t do his best, but neither did his opponent. He also said that the practice that he did beforehand really helped. Zhang also won his match 2-0.
