At approximately 2:46 a.m. on Friday, October 13, firefighters arrived at a Jimboy’s Tacos restaurant in Folsom, Calif. for a fire located at the restaurant on the 700 block of East Bidwell Street. The cause of the fire is still unknown and there have been no reported injuries so far.

“Damage to to the restaurant was estimated to about $50,000,” said Fire Division Chief Chad Wilson. It is unknown when the restaurant will reopen.

Jimboy’s Tacos is a Mexican food restaurant that has been called unique for its interesting architecture. It is a fast food chain that has lasted since its opening in 1954. The chain is mainly located in Sacramento, Calif., as well as a couple in Nevada, and one was built in India in 2015 through a collaboration between the Sacramento Kings and the Krrish Group, an Indian development company.

Very recently, all Jimboy’s restaurants have started raising funds for the people who have lost their homes from wildfires. They will donate 20 percent of their sales to the Salvation Army’s Wildlife Relief Fund. The chain is encouraging everybody to visit a local Jimboy’s restaurant and help others.

“Seeing our community, including many longtime Jimboy’s customers, directly impacted by these wildfires has been extremely emotional for us, and we just want to help,” said Jimboy’s Tacos President, Karen Freeman.  She hopes to make a donation that will help the people who have lost their homes very greatly.

Keep in mind that the one described in this article is still closed, but all other Jimboy’s establishments are still open.
