BREAKING: Massachusetts Teen Arrested for Allegedly Shooting 16-Year-Old Girl in the Face
Brockton’s Anthony Lopes, 18, arrested for allegedly shooting a 16-year-old girl in Easton. Victim survived; police say the suspect and victim knew each other.

In a disturbing act of violence, an 18-year-old Massachusetts man has been arrested in connection with the alleged shooting of a 16-year-old girl in the face earlier this month, authorities confirmed.
Anthony Lopes, of Brockton, was taken into custody on Monday and is facing multiple charges, including assault and battery by discharging a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a high-capacity firearm, and armed robbery.
The horrifying incident unfolded on January 14 at the Avalon Easton Apartments on Robert Drive. Easton police responded to a frantic 911 call that Tuesday afternoon, reporting a shooting at the residential complex. Upon arrival, officers found the teenage girl suffering from a gunshot wound to the face.
Emergency responders from the Easton Fire Department rushed the victim to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was later transported by medical helicopter to a Boston-area hospital, where she was initially in critical condition. Authorities later reported that she was in stable condition.
Witnesses at the scene told police that the suspect fled in a black SUV before officers arrived. Investigators seized two vehicles linked to the case—one found in Mansfield and the other in Brockton.
Police believe the shooting was an isolated incident and that the victim and suspect were known to each other.
As the investigation continues, this alarming act of gun violence raises concerns over illegal firearms and youth crime. Authorities urge anyone with additional information to come forward to aid in the pursuit of justice.
